Corporate Event Photography

Two days ago I participated at a corporate event as the official photographer. It is actually the first time I will also get paid for taking photos - yey for me and may this new "tradition" last forever! It is the second time I take photos at this event, but last year I offered to do it for free (yes, this year I got greedy!). I took 321 photos and will have to deliver a total number of 40, of which below 1st one is my absolute favourite (this room had natural light coming in, while the main room had so little light, artificial - also, to get one thing straight: just because it is my favourite, I do not consider it perfect). I'm glad I snapped all those 321, low-light photography is a bitch , for me, quite difficult, so now I'm covered and have enough material in order to pick the best stuff. On top of that, it was the first time I used an external flash, so I was pretty clueless when it came to flash settings (note to self: time to do some serious investigations on flash photography!). In the end, it seems I've managed to snap both terrible shots and good/very good ones, so I'm pleased with the result, but there's definitely room for better! Any pro's around here to share tips and tricks?

Baby Pickles

I was browsing through my old folders and found this photo of Pickles, it was taken last year in April, he was about 6-7 months at the time.. isn't he the cutest ever?

Black & White

Just a couple of "insta style" shots produced at weekend. I'm considering starting watermarking my photos, or at least the ones that show a clear face of myself, family members, friends, even the doggy.. nowadays you can't be too sure you won't end up on some shady website, or maybe it's just paranoia?!

Two years ago I was in the same place, almost at the exact same time.. namely, in Salzburg, visiting the Hohensalzburg Castle up on the hill in the city center, which gives the opportunity of enjoying quite some views over the city. For some reason, I seem to want to give these photos a vintage touch..

Versatile Blogger Award

Why, thank you Ela! Finally I get to deal with this tag/award.. better late than never, they say..

So, 7 things about me.. let's see what comes to mind..

1. I've just finished eating 6 mint chocolate mini brownies.
2. I'm happy I finally got to book the flights to Romania for July, but sad I go alone and hubby doesn't join this time.. is it July yet?!
3. I'm super curious to find out who is Red John, the killer from The Mentalist, so every now and then I'm checking this page, to see what theories people come up with. (For les connaisseurs I think Red John might have been in Austria too, probably in a better mood, provided the smile below. LOL)

4. I don't/can't ski & drive.
5. If I paint my nails and manage to f*&% up one (which seems to happen quite often lately), I just have to paint all of them again.
6. I don't like strawberry yogurt, but strawberries alone.. yum!

7. I love buying clothes for my niece & nephews, I could spend hours in the kids section.

Passing the award on to:
All you need to do is mention the person who tagged you and share 7 things about yourself.

Spring - Paste Fericit!

Although I now live in Finland, today I am celebrating the orthodox Easter, so to all my Romanian (and not only) friends and fellow bloggers, PASTE FERICIT (Happy Easter!)! Hristos A-nviat!

If you're interested in some DIY, I'll tell you how I made the eggs below, we don't really have the chocolate eggs tradition, but hard boiled eggs, coloured in red (other colours too, but I prefer red only, as there is actually a meaning in all this ).
I think last year's eggs turned out a bit nicer, but all in all, this year's are not too bad either (I guess).
Have a good weekend!
